Setting tongues wagging after a hot-run of much-hyped gigs alongside the likes of DUDS (Castle Face) and Drahla (Captured Tracks), Ramber Records is delighted to now put out Leeds lads L. D. Moses’ debut single “Close As The Ceiling”. Basking in the gloomy glow of post-punk’s most alluring father figures and at the same time following in the footsteps of many contemporary hometown heroes.

A fractured reflection on failed relationship, the tightly coiled jangles and drizzle of guitar in “Close As The Ceiling” are all achingly familiar, the pained vocal a miserable yet deeply satisfying yelp as it goes. Far from filler, the slower tempo “Interval”, then crowds its marching drums and forlorn choruses on the flip so that they crumple in on themselves as the track begins to swell in the rain.
